Indian Fleet statistics

Catalog Info

Catalog provides details on Indian fleet. Dead Weight Tonnage (DWT) is the number of tons (2240 pounds) of stores, fuel and cargo that a ship can transport. This presents the actual carrying capacity of a ship. Gross Registered Tonnage (GRT) applies to the vessel and not to cargo. It is the weight of the volume occupied by the closed in space of a ship taking 100 cubic feet of such closed in spaces as equivalent to one vessel ton. It thus refers to the cubic capacity of the vessels. Gross Tonnage (GT) indicates that the ship has been measured in accordance with the requirements of the International Convention on Tonnage Measurement of Ships 1969 and is derived by formula in accordance with those requirements.
