The upcoming National Data Platform (NDP) is envisioned as a unified national data exchange and marketplace for India, encouraging all stakeholders (government and private) to contribute, discover, and use data without compromising on their business or social goals. By developing an interoperable, robust, secure, and unified data sharing system to be used by government and private data contributors and users alike, the NDP will give a much-needed impetus to the increasingly data-driven digital economy, as well as support better informed decision-making and innovation on key development and governance topics .
The proposed Platform would be a complete data marketplace ecosystem with an inbuilt data exchange, analytics, developer sandbox, visualization engine, data tools, app/model development, modular metadata framework, and adoption of multiple data sharing policies. This will also manage the directories of all data available in India with a state-of-the-art AI ML-driven search & discovery.
