Examination means the test of a students knowledge in prescribed subjects. Various Examination Boards have been established in the country for holding and conducting an examination at the end of Class XII, the Senior Secondary School stage. These boards also prescribe conditions of examinations including course of studies for such examination. Normally every year these Boards conduct Annual Examination in the month of February/March. Some of the Boards also conduct Supplementary Examination in the month of August/September on the basis of course/syllabus as prescribed by the Government.

Number of Students who have passed among the total enrolled students in Higher secondary. Calculation Method: Number of passed students in Higher secondary / Number of total enrolled students in Higher secondary * 100.

Colleges can be of two types: (i) University/ Constituent College - A college maintained by the university (ii) Affiliated College. Some colleges are given Autonomous Status. UGC has introduced a scheme of Autonomous colleges keeping in view the objectives of the National Education Policy (1986-92). All Colleges under Section 2(f) & 12(b) of the UGC Act are eligible under the Scheme. It also includes details on number of colleges based on affiliated college, constituent / university college, PG center / off-campus center, recognized center.
Non-teaching staff are staff other than Teaching staff engaged in Administrative, Secretarial, Laboratory, Library work etc. of the University/ Institution/ College in different level Groups i.e. Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D as defined by Department of Personnel & Training among various social, among minority and PWD (based on actual response). It also includes details on gender wise number of non-teaching staff among various social categories like total, SC, ST, OBC, various categories like PWD, Muslim and other minority communities.
State and Post-wise number of male and female non teaching staff (based on actual response) has been provided by Department of Higher Education. Gender and group wise (Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D) break up is also available in the data.
Get state and post wise number of male and female teacher (based on actual response). It includes details of number of male & female teacher based on various posts like professor or equivalent, reader, associate professor, lecturer, assistant professor, demonstrator, tutor and temporary teacher etc.
