The data refers to information on month-wise employment about seasonality of work under MGNREGA during FY 201011 (Twelfth Five Year Plan document). It indicates that during lean agricultural season (January June), around 70 per cent of person-days of work were generated.
The data refers to details of state-wise average daily wage for male agriculture labour during the month of December from 2008 to 2009 (Twelfth Five Year Plan document) as percentage increase over the previous years. Based on data, as a result of MGNREGA, there is a sharp increase in the average wage for men in the agriculture sector during the period 2008 to 2010. Nominal wages in the rural economy grew at an average annual rate of 2.7 per cent (year on year average). Post MGNREGA, the rate of average wage increase almost quadrupled to 9.7 per cent between 2006 and 2009.
